Join The Revolution

EDITORIAL BY DR. TIM C. KERNAN

[Editor’s Note: In many respects, the planting of the City of Angels International Christian Church (CAICC) on May 6, 2007 was the beginning of God’s new SoldOut Movement! Therefore, the CAICC Bulletin from that first day’s publication became the “Millennial Harbinger” for God’s honor, His great people and His great commission of the evangelization of the nations in this generation. Yet, the Spirit has called Elena & me to serve Him in more of a traveling ministry focusing for a week or two on our key congregations both inside and particularly outside the United States. It is therefore with great joy that I hand over the last of my responsibilities associated with leading the City of Angels Church – the Editorship of the CAICC Bulletin – to the more capable pen of Tim Kernan, the Lead Evangelist of the CAICC and dear son in the Gospel. As Tim & Lianne have already taken Elena’s & my beloved City of Angels Church to unpreceded heights in attendances, baptisms and contributions, I believe the same will hold true of the CAICC Bulletin as Tim will sound this trumpet for God’s glory! Elena & I assisted by our precious sister Karen Maciel will continue to detail the miracles of the movement in the monthly Good News Emails. Please keep us in your prayers. We are family… to the end, Kip McKean]

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” Luke 6:18-19

Jesus came to start a REVOLUTION! Jesus’ radical dream was the ember of a spiritual fire that in one generation consumed the entire world by giving inspiration to men and women in the grip of spiritual destitution. This dream envisioned the poor to become rich in good news; those in dungeons of hopelessness to break free of sin; and the blind to have a vision for the future of God’s people! For Jesus, the very Kingdom of God would expand at such a rate so as to change this dark, putrid world as a light dispels darkness and reveals beauty and as salt gives flavor. He pictured a future for all mankind which “no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him!” (2 Corinthians 2:9)

KOLBY GRAY & REBECCA RICO ARE BEING SENT BY THE SPIRIT TO THE MIGHTY LONDON CHURCH TO AID IN THE EVANGELIZATION OF EUROPE!

Jesus’ church represents the only lasting refuge in a world of sin and pain. Of all the revolutions in history, the true Christian Church was the only one to truly free mankind. Every other effort to “be good without God,” in other words to offer solutions to the world’s problems without Divine direction, has ultimately failed to last. Gamaliel’s words echo in our ears, “If their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men!” (Acts 5:38-39)

Every disciple is called to be a leader in this REVOLUTION! We are small in number, but what we lack in numbers we make up for in commitment to our cause. We back up our words with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. (Luke 10:27) As the American Revolutionary Samuel Adams once wrote, “It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.”

Consider what we, as a band of SoldOut Brothers and Sisters empowered by His Spirit have been able to do around the world:

Lagos, Nigeria: This Tenth Crown of Thorns Planting is the pillar church for all of Africa! They celebrated their Inaugural Service just one month ago on June 26, 2016 with 155 in attendance! With a mission team of 11 courageous souls led by the indomitable Andrew & Patrique Smellie, God added to their number the eight in the remnant group and 11 baptisms, 1 restoration and 2 place memberships! So after one short month, the Lagos International Christian Church now numbers 33 sold-out disciples!

ANDREW & PATRIQUE SMELLIE AND KIP & ELENA MCKEAN AT THE LAGOS ICC INAUGURAL SERVICE WHERE GOD BLESSED THEM WITH 155 IN ATTENDANCE AND 3 BAPTISMS!

Manila, Philippines: At the Manila ICC Inaugural Service on June 7, 2015, the Lord blessed them with 306 in attendance! In their first year, God added to this amazing congregation 166 souls – 132 baptisms, 25 restorations and 9 place memberships directly from our former fellowship who were seeking revival! In the calendar year of 2016, so far they have witnessed 102 additions – 82 baptisms, 18 restorations and 2 place memberships from the ICOC! Kyle & Joan Bartholomew have been used so powerfully by God as the Manila ICC is now 189 radical disciples! Another highlight of 2016 for the Manila Church was on Sunday, June 19th at the First Austral Pacific Rim Missions Conference, where the first ICCM Commencement Ceremony was conducted outside of the United States! The ICCM – Manila’s first four graduates were: Gina Dela Pena, Anna Malnegro, John Malnegro and Cathy Manresa!

THE ESTEEMED FIRST GRADUATES OF THE ICCM – MANILA: CATHY MANRESA, JOHN MALNEGRO, ANNA MALNEGRO AND GINA DELA PENA!
THE ESTEEMED FIRST GRADUATES OF THE ICCM – MANILA: CATHY MANRESA, JOHN MALNEGRO, ANNA MALNEGRO AND GINA DELA PENA!

Mexico City, Mexico: This congregation – lead powerfully through the Spirit by Carlos & Lucy Mejia – has grown from 59 disciples on January 1, 2016 to now 107 revolutionaries for Christ today! However, their most extraordinary news is the founding of the SoldOut Press International – the new publishing house for our movement! Carlos serves as the President of the Board and Kip McKean is the Vice President. The Editor is the esteemed Hector Gomez and his Associate Editor is Lucy! Today, they will officially unveil their first book: ELEVATE – Jesus’ Global Revolution For Women by Dr. Elena Garcia McKean!

Moscow, Russia: This incredible beacon of light was planted in February 2015 and is the Eighth Crown of Thorns Church! The Moscow ICC is led by a very dear couple to the entire movement – Oleg & Elena Sirotkin! With 17 on the mission team and 33 in the remnant group, in the Moscow Church’s very first year, they recorded 49 baptisms, 27 restorations and 10 place memberships! At their First Eurasian Missions Conference just three months ago, God blessed them with 289 participants! Excitingly, in Russia’s fifth largest city, the Spirit has initiated the Nizhny Novgorod Remnant Group led by Sergey & Elena Lamenkyn!

Bogota, Colombia: In a dark city known for its drug trade, the light of Jesus’ REVOLUTION began to shine in April as the five-person mission team from Mexico City was joined by the 26 in the remnant group initiated by Hector & Adriana Gomez. At the Bogota ICC Inaugural Service, they had an amazing 140 in attendance! So in just three months, God has grown this planting through baptisms and restorations to 49 on fire disciples!

Chennai, India: The Seventh Crown of Thorns Planting had 101 additions their first year – 94 baptisms and 7 restorations! When I think about this sister congregation, so nobly led by Raja & Debs Rajan, I think of our theme Scripture for the movement this year in 1 Peter 5:8-9, “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your FAMILY THROUGHOUT THE WORLD is undergoing the same kind of trials.” Month after month in the Good News Email, heroic accounts of disciples persevering by faith through hardships such as flooding and starvation, as well as horrific persecutions have inspired the entire movement! Lord willing, at the First South Asia Missions Conference in November, the Chennai Church will be sending out their first planting to Bangalore, India!

There are so many miracles around the globe that we only take the time to mention the mighty churches in London, England; Santiago, Chile; and São Paulo, Brazil! In the States, the SoldOut Movement now has thriving congregations in such metropolises as New York City, Chicago, Washington DC, San Francisco and our newest planting in Seattle! Added to the impact of the churches is that each SoldOut Movement Church is a “branch” of MERCYWORLDWIDE and every disciple is a MERCY Ambassador! Also the IGNITE Teen Program just finished up their 2016 week-long training event entitled, EVEN GREATER THINGS!

ADAM ZEPEDA, THE DYNAMIC YOUNG EVANGELIST, RETURNS TO SÃO PAULO TO WORK SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH RAUL MORENO – HIS FATHER IN THE FAITH!
ADAM ZEPEDA, THE DYNAMIC YOUNG EVANGELIST, RETURNS TO SÃO PAULO TO WORK SIDE-BY-SIDE WITH RAUL MORENO – HIS FATHER IN THE FAITH!

We also must mention one of the greatest miracles in our generation, the founding of the International College of Christian Ministries! Today, July 31, 2016 at the REVOLUTION Global Leadership Conference, the Fourth Commencement Ceremony of the International College of Christian Ministries (ICCM) will be celebrated! Awarded will be 65 BA Degrees, 5 Master’s Degrees and 1 Doctorate Degree to be given to my dear friend Andrew Smellie! Last year, added to what is now known as ICCM – LA were the extension campuses: ICCM – Manila, ICCM – Portland, and ICCM – São Paulo! This year, new extension campuses will be established in Boston, Massachusetts and so excitingly in Lagos, Nigeria! This “dream become reality” was made possible when the Lord answered our prayers on August 16, 2012 as the California Bureau of Postsecondary Education approved our application for the founding of the ICCM. We received the “Verification of Exempt Status” which allows the ICCM to grant accredited Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate Degrees in Ministry according to “our” Biblical doctrines and standards.

THE FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED BY SOLDOUT PRESS INTERNATIONAL IS DR. ELENA GARCIA MCKEAN’S DOCTORAL DISSERTATION, ELEVATE – “JESUS’ GLOBAL REVOLUTION FOR WOMEN!”
THE FIRST BOOK PUBLISHED BY SOLDOUT PRESS INTERNATIONAL IS DR. ELENA GARCIA MCKEAN’S DOCTORAL DISSERTATION, ELEVATE – “JESUS’ GLOBAL REVOLUTION FOR WOMEN!”

Another highlight today is the sending out of the Tampa and Dubai Mission Teams! The Tampa Mission Team is led by Anthony & Elizabeth Eckels. Remarkably, Tampa will be our third church in the state of Florida! The Dubai, United Arab Emirates ICC will be our Eleventh Crown of Thorns Planting and our pillar church for the evangelization of the Middle East! The valiant couple RD & April Baker will serve as the leaders of this amazing church! So in just nine years, God has multiplied the 42 disciples on the LA Mission Team from Portland into almost 5,000 disciples in 68 churches, in 31 nations on all six populated continents of the world! Indeed, this is not a movement of men, but the modern day movement of God!

MATT & HELEN SULLIVAN (RIGHT) HAVE RAISED UP ANTHONY & ELIZABETH ECKELS, WHO HAVE PLANTED

As we near the end of the Crown of Thorns Project Phase #1, we now have planted eleven of the twelve pillar churches. Just as the last leg of a marathon is the hardest, we must now complete Phase #1 of the Crown of Thorns Project with the same fire and zeal with which we began! So next year, to celebrate the sending out of the Twelfth and Final Crown of Thorns Mission Team – Hong Kong, China – the GLC will be held in Manila, Philippines! Lord willing, August 3-6, 2017 will be the dates for this historic event in the tenth year of the movement!

KAREN MACIEL (LEFT) AND REBECCA RICO CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF AN EXCITING NEW CHAPTER IN EACH OF THEIR LIVES!
KAREN MACIEL (LEFT) AND REBECCA RICO CELEBRATE THE BEGINNING OF AN EXCITING NEW CHAPTER IN EACH OF THEIR LIVES!

Like the farmer sowing in tears, we are already beginning to reap with songs of joy! (Psalm 126:4-6) Let us dig deep and draw closer to God than we ever have! I would like to challenge every disciple in all the USA Churches to get out in front of our Thanksgiving Special Missions Contribution and put aside at least $100 towards our personal goals by the end of this August! This is the goal of the City of Angels Church. As the American thinker William James once wrote, “Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does.”

It is an honor to be together with all of you here at the 2016 GLC! Just one question is to be answered by every participant over the next three days: Are you ready to join Jesus’ REVOLUTION?

In His Majesty’s Service,
Dr. Tim C. Kernan

The Day The Untouchable Became Touchable

“A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees, ‘If you are willing, you can make me clean.’ Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. ‘I am willing,’ He said. ‘Be clean!’ Immediately, the leprosy left him and he was cured.”

To me, addiction is much like leprosy. As an addict I was enslaved, depressed, and lived in shame. My addiction pushed away many people I cared about leading me to live a lonely and empty life. I’m grateful for Jesus’ heart to have looked at me with compassion and reached out his hand when everyone else just gave their backs to me. And Jesus expects us to follow in his example. We must imitate the heart of Jesus to reach out our hands not only to the educated and prominent but also to the ones that are socially “unwanted” or “unaccepted”. Jesus ate with tax collectors and sinners (Matthew 9:10) and he talked about tax collectors and prostitutes entering the kingdom of God (Matthew 21:31). Dealing with addicts takes a lot of Patience, Faith, Perseverance, Sacrifice, and most of all a whole lot of Love.

I am very grateful to have been a part of an amazing CR Ministry where God has healed so many hurts from my past, have learned so much about my character, and how to live a sober life. What is most impacting is seeing other peoples completely transform through God, his word, and a strong support group. I once had a coworker who was an addict. She would constantly offer to bring me marijuana and as a young disciple it was very tempting to just give in. I also shared with her about God and would constantly invite her to church and devotionals. One day she told me that she could never see herself not using. She grew up in a family that were all addicts; mom, dad, sister, and cousins. I remember us both being in tears as I told her that God has the power to free and heal anyone from any addiction. She studied the bible and a week later she was baptized and finally freed and given hope for a better life. She became my roommate, my best friend, and partner in the gospel. God used her life to impact many others.

God has put women in my life who are addicts, suicidal, or have prostituted themselves. I have made many mistakes in dealing with these women and God has exposed things in my character that I have to change and areas that I still have to grow in. And this is a great opportunity to imitate Jesus’ heart like in Mark 1, as God sends u to a lost, hurting, and wicked city. God wants us to take this city which has been built on pleasure and turn it upside down and proclaim this city for Him. This is going to require a lot of Sacrifice, Hard Work, Perseverance, Faith, and a lot of Love. Love for God, for the Mission, and for the Lost. 1 Corinthians 1:26-30 says “Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose weak things of the world t shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things-and the things that are not-to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.” We should never forget where we came from and that is was God who reached out his hand to us, sacrificing his own son to cleanse us from our own leprosy. And THAT was the day when the Untouchable Became Touchable.

The Quiet After The Storm

Throughout the ages there have been many of reasons why God’s people have gone astray. One might say because of disobedience or a lack of faith others might say it’s because of pure rebellion and no fear of God. In my life as a disciple I can confidently say I’ve struggled with all of these and I presume to say the number one reason I’ve personally lacked faith is insecurity.

Insecure: Not confident or assured; uncertain or anxious.

When spiritually strong, it seems almost impossible to see why one would fall away. I have realized in my own life the first stage of growing weak is insecurity. Even if I’m having great quiet times and long prayers, what always throws me off is believing lies from Satan and not believing what’s true from God. In this article I’d like to look at the life of a strong prophet of God, Elijah a man of faith and courage. Yet because of his focus on man he was detoured from the path.

“Elijah was afraid and ran for his life. When he came to Beersheba in Judah, he left his servant there, while he himself went a day’s journey into the desert. He came to a broom tree, sat down under it and prayed that he might die ‘I have had enough, Lord, he said I am no better than my ancestors.” 1 Kings 19:3-4
In this passage we see that Elijah was afraid of Jezebel and ran for his life into the desert. In reality, it’s a valid reason to be afraid. Throughout 1 & 2 Kings Jezebel proved herself to be a wicked woman and someone to be feared. In his time she was going around killing hundreds of prophets (1 Kings 18:4). What I can completely relate to is the pessimistic heart that can come from insecurity. We see Elijah say “I am no better than my ancestors” while feeling afraid he immediately let the lies begin to dictate his speech. What’s true is that God called him to be a man of faith. And we see in the New Testament examples of his faith used time and time again. When I see this I think “how many times has God used me to do great things but in my unbelief I discredit all God has made me to do?”

“The angel of the Lord came back a second time and touched him and said “get up and eat, the journey is too much for you.”
It astounds me how even as Elijah is running away from his fears even then God sees potential in him. He sees a man that He’s created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10), in God’s eyes no insecurity is going to stand in the way of His purpose. When I’ve been the most weak, when I’ve been the most reluctant to live in my purpose, God has fed me in the desert and helped me to persevere.

“After the Earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it he pulled back his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him “What are you doing here, Elijah?”
I find this passage to exemplify how the life of a disciple can often be. In our insecurity we often go through storms, earthquakes, and fire. Through each trial I often ask “where is God in the storm?” However it’s not in the storm that we see Gods plans, but rather when the storms are over… in the ‘gentle whisper.’ I can relate to Elijah’s fears and insecurities completely. In the past my fears took me away from the goal, often in turn it led to loss of faith and acting out in disobedience. My doubt had brought me to question what God had made clear. I got to the point where I started wondering if I wanted the ministry, if God wanted me, if He had plans for my life etc. I believe God’s sovereignty allowed me to see how far one can get when we allow the voice of people and Satan rule over His Word. After the storms and the doubt He just had to ask me, “What are you doing here, Samara?”

In conclusion I’ve gathered that as disciples we can’t let our feelings, emotions etc. drive us away from the purpose God has for us. Insecurities lead to a lack of faith and therefore complete disobedience. God is patient and gentle with us knowing we are human, but there comes a point where we all have to be asked “what are you doing here?” In God’s view there is no insecurity that is going to stand in the way of his plans. His will is determined and above our fears his purpose still stands.

Ultimate Revolution

Revelation 21:5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
In Cuba, July of 1953, Fidel Castro with few than one-hundred men stormed the beaches at Moncada Army Barracks. Castro was dissatisfied with Batista’s rule over Cuba, asserting that he had “grown soft” on the finances of American Businessmen; as a patriot he had to act.
Revelation 21:5
He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”
However, on that day in 1953, Castro’s attack was a failure. He was tried, found guilty, and spent two years in a Cuban jail. Afterward, Castro made his way to Mexico, where he gained support before returning to Cuba in 1956 with who would later be known to the world as the Mexican Revolutionaries. Rather than fighting their way through Batista again, they hid in the Maestra Mountains, receiving support from peasants and farmers who lived nearby.
It was there that Castro would begin to inflict numerous casualties on Batista’s armies, through military tactics known as “guerrilla warfare” that Batista eventually was forced to flee in 1959. On that day, the revolutionary known as Fidel Castro rose to power.
The word ‘revolution’ comes from the roman phrase ‘res novae’, which means ‘new things’. A revolution is an attempt to renew the status quo, creating a new order, a new way of life.
2000 years ago, in 29 ad, in a little known part of the world called Judea, a man named Jesus changed the world as we know it. Which makes Jesus Christ the Ultimate Revolutionary. Life was no longer about the Laws of God, but about Love for God. It wasn’t about regulation, but restoration. To this day, the name of Jesus is discussed, argued, refuted, and exalted. No single human being in the history of human kind has caused such a stir as Jesus did. There is a reason. The bells of Jesus’ revolution have rung throughout the pages and ages of history, and we hear them ringing in our ears today.
How was Jesus revolutionary? His life’s purpose, summed up in a single moment, changed the course of history, and the nature human-kind’s relationship with the Almighty God. No other man has ever made such a claim, as to say “I am” (John 8:58); a claim that anyone hearing it would understand as the claim to the divinity of God (Exodus 3:14). However, his revolution didn’t begin with his claim, it began with his call.
Focus on the Few
Late in the year 26 ad, on the shores of a Lake Galilee, a grizzled fisherman named Peter, and his brother Andrew, were just putting out nets to fish, tired from a night of empty nets and lowered expectations. Along the shore stood a carpenter/preacher that everyone in the area knew as Jesus, who had, only a few days before, spoken publicly about the kingdom of God and performed many miracles. The carpenter called out to the fishermen, who turned around startled at his presence. He said, in a solemn voice, “Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Mark 1:17) They, immediately, did just that.
Jesus later called 10 other men to follow, 12 in total. Why just twelve? Why not twenty, thirty, or 120? History reveals the answer, as these men, who would later be called the Apostles (messengers), would shake the First Century world to its very core. The aftermath of which we still feel today.
Jesus’ choice of men could be considered “revolutionary”. He did not choose the most learned men, the most talented, the most financially stable, or the most socially acceptable. He chose fishermen, terrorists, tax-collectors, and the man who would, one day, betray him to death (Matthew 10:2-4). If I were to start a movement that would change the world, I would have chosen otherwise.
Though, Jesus did have the choice of any person who presented himself, and he could have spread himself out to hundreds of men to create an army worthy of conquering the world, he focused on the Twelve. The Twelve were quarrelsome, selfish, self-righteous, and, at times, simply did not understand the things Jesus tried to teach them. However, what they lacked in brawn and brains, they made up for in the most crucial element of a revolution: loyalty.
For the next 3 years of his life, Jesus would spend every day, every waking moment, pouring his heart into these 12 men. What was his goal? To make men who were just like Him. History would reveal that these men would one day be called Christians (Acts 11:6-28), which of course means “like-Christ.”
 Guerilla Warfare
We understand that Jesus’ revolutionary method of “selection” is full-proof, and has gone down in history as the best choice ever made. What would we say was his methodology of evangelism? Its as simple as war.
First of all, in order to have war you have to have an enemy. I believe many so-called Christians today have forgotten that there is, in fact, a malevolent force in the universe that wants us dead. The bible calls this force Satan, or the Devil (1 Peter 5:8). Now, this enemy doesn’t want you discouraged, though thats always a benefit for his ultimate goal. Instead, he wants to kill you. I don’t speak metaphorically. In the same way that a lion wishes to devour a baby zebra, or a young gazelle, Satan wants to eat Christians. He wants us dead, and out of his way. The sooner we understand this, the sooner we can begin the next phase of warfare.
In keeping with Jesus’ methodology of “Focusing on the Few”, one may raise the question: “How do you fight a superior enemy with inferior forces?” Well, I’m gad you asked. The term is ‘guerrilla warfare’.
Guerrilla warfare is defined as “the use of hit-and-run tactics by small, mobile groups of irregular forces operating in territory controlled by a hostile, regular force.” The word ‘guerrilla’ means ‘little war’ in Spanish, and has been used since the 18th century to describe this particular type of combat. It was also a common tactic used throughout the American Revolution (The Patriot, 2000, Film).
The tactic worked for Fidel Castro, it worked for Mel Gibson, and it worked for Jesus. In the International Christian Churches, we implement this biblical methodology in the form of Bible Talks. Every disciple (christian) is assigned to a Bible Talk (BT), which is lead by the Bible Talk Leader. This
BT is given a geographic location, such as a school, mall, or neighborhood, or a demographic, such as ‘campus students’ or ‘single professionals’. That small group then proceeds to ‘wage war’ on their area of influence by studying the bible with any willing individual and helping them to a point of res novae (revolution) in their own lives.
This method has worked in inflicting major casualties, and, in the process, has recruited many other revolutionary men and women to the Ultimate Revolution of Jesus Christ.
 Commitment to the Cause
In 29 ad, in the early part of the year, money was exchanged for innocent life. Through selfishness, jealousy, and personal gain the religious leaders of the Jewish faith had the man Jesus hung on a crucifix until death (Matthew 26:36-28:20). This was the darkest day in human history, and yet, at the same time, it was the brightest. Regardless of personal opinion, without such an event, however cruel as it may have been, there would never have been a revolution. The impact of this day has never been equaled by any man or any religion in the history of men.
In the movie Lawless, directed by John Hilcoat in 2012, Shia LaBeouf plays a young moonshiner in Virginia in 1931. With his two older brothers, the Bondurants become the last true surviving outlaw bootleggers in the States. They’re mostly left alone, until the Sheriff’s Deputy arrives demanding payment, which the boys are unwilling to abide by. They’re faced with a terrifying question in the face of bowing down to corrupt law, or upholding their own set of principles. The question becomes, “How far are you willing to go?”
It is the question of all true revolutionaries. How far are you willing to go, to see change happen in the world? True change? Some think true change will come through the advancement of sciences and psychologies, but what will that truly accomplish? Divorce rates are at 75%, and the percent of our population using anxiety or depression medication is continuing to rise. Can science change the hearts of men, and give them true morality, ethics, and values? Will science do away with murder, hatred, jealousy, or adultery? Can science annihilate hopelessness as well as it did at Hiroshima? Can it find the cure for heartache?
How far are you willing to go, so see change in the world? How far will you go to see a revolution happen in the hearts of other men and women? We’ve seen it all in the movies, and we’ve read it in books… There is a price to pay for freedom, and there is a price to pay for revolution.
When the Paris mob stormed the Bastille on July 14, 1789, and paraded the governors head through the city, King Louis XVI woke startled from his slumber. “Is it a revolt?” he asked. “No, sire,” came the awful reply. “It is a revolution.”
Jesus was the ultimate revolutionary. From his choice of men to his choice of methods, Jesus’ ministry rings throughout history as the most revolutionary incident to happen on our humble planet. His commitment to his cause brought him to die on a crucifix. Yet, even death was unable to prevent the res novae of Jesus, he still had one more new thing to show. On that triumphant Easter morning, Jesus, the Ultimate Revolutionary, rose from the dead.
And the world hasn’t heard the end of it.
